What is a Traditional Gong Fu/Kung Fu School?
The Chinese Martial Arts Center is a traditional Wushu Guan (武術館) (Kwoon in Cantonese), or martial arts training hall, which has a rich history that is governed by strict adherence to etiquette known as Wude, and the observation of rules and regulations.
The Guan is the place where Kung Fu, or Gong Fu, is on full display. The term “Kung Fu” means skillful endeavor. Although often used to describe martial arts, the term can be applied to any field that requires hard work, skill, dedication, and perseverance.
The traditional Chinese martial arts Guan requires that the student respect the Shifu (Master), the art, the training hall, and the lesson.
While your monthly fee pays for your place on the floor, only dedication, diligence, and commitment earn you the privilege of receiving martial arts knowledge and skills that have been carefully passed down through countless generations of masters.
Training at our Guan exposes the students to all aspects of Chinese martial arts. You can choose the Wudang systems, which encompass Tai Chi, Xing Yi and Water Boxing, or you can choose the Shaolin Systems and learn Mizong Luohan and Ying Zhao Fanzi (Eagle Claw Gong Fu). Classical Chinese Weapons and Qinna are also part of our curriculum.
The Chinese Martial Arts Center offers a comprehensive training program that is rare in martial arts schools today.
